How It All Began

It started with a gift.

Cillian had been away for a few days. Nothing out of the ordinary. But on his way back through Galway, he stopped and picked something out for me. A top. Simple, elegant. Something he thought I'd love.

I opened it with a smile.

But when I tried it on, something wasn't right. Not the size. Not the colour. Something harder to put into words. It just didn't feel like me. Like so many things I'd tried before, it was close. But not quite.

I didn't say much. I didn't need to.

Cillian saw it. That look I get when I put something back on the hanger. The one he'd seen a hundred times before, in a hundred different shops.

He sat down beside me and asked: "Why is it so hard to find something that actually feels like you?"

I laughed. Then I really thought about it.

"Because nobody's making it for me."

That stayed with us both.

Finding the Answer

We kept coming back to that question.

On long drives through Connemara. Over dinner. On that rainy afternoon in Clare when I put my phone down and sighed at yet another website that wasn't made for me.

The more we talked, the clearer it got.

Cillian had spent years building online businesses. He knew how to reach people, how to make things work in the digital world. But he didn't know what women like me actually needed. That part was mine to show him.

We both saw the same gap. Not a need for more fashion. A need for the right fashion. For women who'd found their own style, who knew what they wanted, who'd simply been left behind somewhere along the way.

Women like me.

So we did something about it.

What We Built

Cillian & Fiona Galway started from that conversation.

I brought the eye. Cillian built the engine. And together we made something we're genuinely proud of.

Every piece goes through the same question: would I actually wear this? If the answer's no, it doesn't make it in. No filler, no padding, no pieces chosen because they're easy. Only things we'd hand to a friend and say, trust me on this one.

I built this for that moment.
